Tabasco Original Red. Just the name strikes fear in the hearts of the more tender-tongued gourmands. But my husband? No way! I think he would eat Tabasco sauce on just about anything that I can cook from macaroni and cheese, to pizza, to chicken. I swear, this guy is a glutton for punishment!

Tabasco sauce isn't just heat for heat's sake, but it is more about the enhancement of the flavor of the food. It is a blend of salt, red pepper, and vinegar that have a strange, yet satisfying ability to bring out the best, most adventurous side of your food. My husband's favorite way to enjoy Tabasco is by squirting it all over his Pepperoni and Jalapeno Pepper pizza (already too hot for me!). He says that it is "Pizza Perfected". I'll stick with my canadian bacon and pineapple, thanks honey. Fortunately for my husband, his friends are spicy-inclined as much as he is, so he gets to have as much of it as he wants on game-day, when he has his boys over. I use the Game-Day Party Menu to help come up with new and interesting ways to implement Tabasco sauce in ways that the guys will love.

  1. My mom used to eat Tabasco by the spoonful. I think she kept ALL those genes, though, cuz I'm a lightweight when it comes to that stuff. Emily
